Marx's story

As a young child growing up in West Africa, I loved a homemade drink my grandmother made from an infusion of the dried calyx from the hibiscus flower bush.

The recipe, carefully passed down through the generations, could be served hot or cold. It is known by different names in different countries, such as Bissap, Karkade, Sorrel and Krachiap.

Later when I moved to England, I worked passionately to produce my own hibiscus drink – the UK’s first super flower drink. Today, I’m delighted to bring you Hib! and its many healthy benefits. I hope you come to love it as much as I do.

Why we love Hib!

Hib! is the first super flower drink in the UK. It is made from the calyx of the hibiscus flower bush which gives the drink its gorgeous ruby red colour and also its positive health benefits.

Extracts from the hibiscus sabdariffa flower, also known as Indian sorrel, Rosella or Florida cranberry, contain naturally occurring powerful antioxidants, anthocyanins, which may help to protect cells in the body against damage caused by free radicals.

Stress, smoking, pollution and ultra violet light can increase the level of harmful free radicals in your body.

Scientists are carrying out many research studies into the health benefits of anthocyanin antioxidants and recent reports link them to a reduction in blood pressure and also slowing of colon cancer.
